About : The History and Activities of NIT Hamirpur

National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur is one of the twenty National Institutes of Technology established and administered by Government of India. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Engineering and Architecture and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme in Engineering, Sciences and Humanities.

Admission Process and Curriculum

Students are admitted through their performance in the All-India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). The academic begins in early August and ends in late May. The semester system of education is followed and each academic year consists of two semesters. Engineering undergraduate program is an eight semester program. Undergraduation in the field of architecture is a ten semester program and will be awarded Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch).

In 2005 Master of Technology (M.Tech) programs were introduced.

In 2006 Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) and in 2009, MBA programs were introduced.
